PURPLE ELECTRIC COLLECTION
These paintings were inspired by the piece of music by Ed Allen Johnson – ‘The Purple Electric Violin Concerto’. The layers of patterns and colour in the work represent the layers in the piece of music. I wanted to experiment with creating work based on a non-visual stimulus. As I was trained to work from direct observation as a starting point, this was a very liberating experience for me and allowed me to explore my subconscious and imagination more freely.
